ABOUT THE BRAND

Vanda Jacintho is a luxury resort wear and artistic jewelry brand based between London and São Paulo.

Vanda uncompromisingly creates statement pieces which emerge from the intersection between art and nature. Born and raised in Brazil, Vanda’s collections are infused with evocative imagery from her childhood memories growing up in the lush tropical surroundings of her family’s farm in the Pantanal region. Jaguars and birds of paradise, majestic trees and wildflowers create a vibrant living tableaux. In her creative work Vanda draws inspiration from architecture, decorative, and visual art. Some of her muses include Oscar Niemeyer, Sophie Taeuber-Arp, and Dame Barbara Hepworth. This co-existence of natural and modernist inspiration is what defines the brand.

Despite their boldness, the core pieces embody sophistication and versatility. The unique silk sarong and panneau can be worn four ways, as trousers, a jumpsuit, a dress or a skirt. All made for the travelling woman to float from day into night, from destination to destination. Our silk is Abvtex certified, it is produced using the most sustainable and ethical methods, caring for the environment and human rights. All of our silk dyes are Oekotex certified, biodegradable and water soluble.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Fashion editor, designer and consultant, Jacintho’s career began aged 17 when she was selected to assist the Fashion Editor of Vogue Brazil. After gaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Promotion from  London College of Fashion, her subsequent 12 year career in the fashion industry saw her working for publications including the Sunday Times, Flaunt, Nylon, Vogue Brasil, Harper’s Bazaar Brasil and Tatler UK where she had the honour of working alongside Isabella Blow.

After returning to Brazil and founding luxury global beachwear brand “Beach Couture” in 2005, Jacintho identified a niche in the market for the versatile day-to-night silk panneaux which she sold as cover-ups to her swimwear. With stylish instruction booklets showing how to take the covetable pieces from beach to bar, poolside to dinner party, summer to winter, she launched her eponymous brand in 2014.

The brand offers practical and chic evening resort wear pieces with versatility at its core, appealing to the jet-setting modern woman seeking an effortless ‘hand luggage only’ vacation wardrobe. Pieces are not only sophisticated and multi-tasking but also seasonless and timeless.
